Connect to my MCP server

Ask your AI assistant about my writing, film reviews, parkrun results, podcast listening and more. MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets your assistant look up the public content on this site while you chat.

No account, API key or installation of a server needed. Everything is public and read-only. Your assistant can search and read; it cannot change anything on this site.

Quick start

In an app that supports remote MCP servers, add a server with these settings:

https://adrianlansdown.com/mcp

Save, enable the server's tools if your app asks, then try: “Use the Adrian Lansdown MCP server to summarise the latest posts, with links.”

Choose your app below for specific instructions:

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal to make the server available across your projects:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user adrianlansdown https://adrianlansdown.com/mcp

Open Claude Code and run /mcp to check the connection. Then ask it to use the server.

Codex

Run this in your terminal:

codex mcp add adrianlansdown --url https://adrianlansdown.com/mcp

Run codex mcp list to check it was added, then start a new Codex session. The CLI and IDE extension share this configuration.

If you prefer editing settings, add this to ~/.codex/config.toml instead:

[mcp_servers.adrianlansdown]
url = "https://adrianlansdown.com/mcp"

OpenCode

Add this to opencode.json in your project, or ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json for all projects. Merge with any existing settings:

{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "adrianlansdown": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://adrianlansdown.com/mcp",
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}

Start a new session and ask OpenCode to use adrianlansdown to search this site.

Try asking

The server also covers notes, shared links, the current /now page, tags and recent activity. Ask your assistant to include source links so you can read the originals.

Troubleshooting

My app isn't listed. Look for an option to add a remote MCP server or custom connector. Use the quick-start settings. Your app needs to support Streamable HTTP; apps that only accept local commands cannot use this URL directly. Connector availability can depend on your app's plan or administrator settings.

It asks me to sign in or enter a token. Choose no authentication, if available. This server does not require credentials. Your app may still ask you to approve connecting or using tools.

The server is added but my assistant isn't using it. Enable its tools, start a new chat or restart the app, and explicitly ask it to use the Adrian Lansdown MCP server. Try get_site_info as a first tool call.

The connection fails. Check the URL ends in /mcp, use HTTP / Streamable HTTP, and update your client. Open the endpoint to check that it returns a JSON summary. That summary confirms the endpoint is reachable; your app still needs to connect using MCP.

I want to inspect the tools or build my own client. The server offers 16 read-only tools, resources and reusable prompts. Browse the server summary for the current list, or see the server implementation on GitHub for the request handlers and tool schemas.
